CUPERTINO, CA - April 05, 2011
Interra Systems, Inc., based in Cupertino, CA, is pleased to announce that BBC Studios and Post Production has selected Interra’s Baton™ as its File-Based QC solution as part of its Media Hub installation.

BBC Studios and Post Production is a wholly owned commercial subsidiary of the BBC, offering world-class studio and post production services to the entire media industry. They also offer a wide range of digital media services, including digital archiving, film, video and digital restoration, compliance and re-versioning, quality assessment and digital distribution.

Interra's Baton® is a QC or Automated Content Verification system for file-based SD, HD, and mixed workflows. Supporting a wide-variety of codecs and media containers, Baton® ensures quality control of any content at any stage of content lifecycle. Baton is highly flexible and can be quickly scaled for large facilities or high volume of content. As a hardware and O/S independent solution, Baton® can be easily integrated into any facilities' existing infrastructure. Baton'sT support for parallel processing enables convenient handling of increased verification load with high availability.

Baton will be used to provide QC elements of automated workflow management in BBC Studios and Post Production's new Media Hub facility, augmenting its human-based quality review services. BBC Studios and Post Production's Media Hub represents significant investment in file-based technologies to widen the range, and increase the scalability of its portfolio of services. Building on its long-standing experience of file-based workflows, the Media Hub consolidates and expands on existing capabilities to provide centrally managed and highly scalable systems for functions such as global file delivery, transcoding, media storage, duplication, library digitization and file-based quality checks.

"We are very pleased with the adoption of our Baton® software solution by BBC Studios and Post Production," said Ashish Basu, Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Interra Systems, Inc. "It further demonstrates the QC leadership of Baton."
