TMD Joins Interra's Baton-Connect Technology Partner Program

Interra's Baton Automated Content Verification to Be Integrated with TMD's Mediaflex® System to Ensure Content Readiness

CUPERTINO, Calif. - (BUSINESS WIRE), October 22, 2009
Interra Systems, Inc, the industry leader in automated content verification with its Baton® product, today announced that TransMedia Dynamics (TMD), an industry leader in Media Management Solutions, has joined Interra's Baton-Connect™ partner program.

TMD's Mediaflex® is the core component for delivering efficiencies in media businesses. By providing orchestrated and streamlined workflows in a rules-based environment, Mediaflex guarantees measurable success. The goal of the partnership is to achieve tight integration of TMD's Mediaflex workflows, such as Post-production, Ingest, and Repurposing, with Interra's Baton for automated content verification. The integrated solution ensures content readiness and visibility throughout the content chain, including from the wider Enterprise.

"Baton is an industry leader in automated content verification with its comprehensive formats support, quality checks and integration into various workflows. The wide applicability of Baton is well aligned with broad-based Mediaflex workflows throughout the content chain," said TMD Chairman and CEO Tony Taylor. "Given the trends of tape to file-based workflows, a proven content verification solution is mission critical to ensure content readiness as the content goes through transformations during repurpose, editing, transcoding and play-out. We are pleased to collaborate with Interra Systems and participate in their Baton-Connect program."

As content moves to file-based workflows, the content lifecycle speeds up with more transformations and more operations to impact content readiness negatively. Content readiness goes beyond the traditional QC to additionally validate relevance of formats and playout-specs. These content readiness problems result in unexpected penalties in content acquisition costs, bandwidth and time to trace and fix issues. The quality control requirements in each phase of the content chain vary based on the respective formats, content changes and the workflow details. Hence there is a need for an automated content verification system that supports broad applicability and is easy to integrate into a wide variety of workflows across the content chain. The resulting solution should enable a consistent and objective measure for quality control.

"We are pleased to welcome TMD as Baton-Connect partner and look forward to delivering on the requirements of our mutual customers," said Krishna Uppuluri, Vice President of Marketing at Interra Systems. "TMD's Mediaflex system supports file-based workflows across the content chain for Ingest, Transcoding, Editing, Distribution and much more. Such broad-based solutions enable efficient content management and Interra's Baton will further extend the benefits to improved content readiness with quality. Together, we can offer a complete range of solutions across the media content chain for global media companies to achieve greater efficiency and quality."
