Interra’s Content Monitor ORION Enables WNET to Deliver Superior Quality Video and Experience

CUPERTINO, California - September 22, 2014

Interra Systems, Inc., the leading provider of video analysis, QC, and monitoring products announced today that ORION, its content monitoring product has been adopted by WNET, a New York based PBS (Public Broadcasting System) member station.

WNET station is using ORION for its IP based ATSC rollout to continuously monitor its video programs. ORION, a real time content monitoring platform for next-generation video delivery, monitors the channels coming via IP to detect and alert the user of any errors or anomalies with respect to IP packets, standards compliance, Closed Captions and audio video quality. ORION’s comprehensive error checking informs the user about type of error, its time and location, frequency, severity etc. which helps with error resolution before it becomes a major issue. WNET is able to tailor its monitoring set up as per their specific requirements, through ORION’s customizable profile creation and reporting features.

"At WNET, we needed a reliable, 24x7 content monitor that helped us deliver programming at higher quality with greater efficiency. As a monitoring platform, we found ORION to be very powerful yet easy to use. It helps us proactively monitor all channels for any errors at network, transport stream and embedded data levels. ORION has been especially useful in addressing some of the PSIP and Closed Caption related issues we were facing. ORION has worked out very well for us and we are very impressed by its quality and performance,” said Peter Brickman, CTO at WNET.

"Providing superior quality of service and experience to its viewers is very important for our customers like WNET. In ORION we have strived to build a solid monitoring platform with leading edge features. With comprehensive solution for error detection, Closed Caption and audio-video quality monitoring, ORION makes an ideal fit for WNET and other TV stations," said Anupama Anantharaman, Director of Business development and Product Marketing at Interra Systems.
