Interra Systems Highlights Seamless QC With Browser-Based Baton Media Player

Interra Systems’ latest version of Baton comes with the Baton Media Player (BMP) included as a browser-based plugin, allowing users to open reports within the Baton interface without having to install a separate desktop application for eyeball QC of media

Interra Systems' Baton has been available with a built-in Media Player for some years, and users have always been free to install as many Baton Media Player applications as they wanted, but now with the integrated browser-based player it becomes seamless and easier to use.

Baton Media Player is an industry grade media player with options for SDI playout.

The media player works in sync with Baton for fast, frame-accurate manual review of content.

BMP lets the users cut short the debugging time and navigate to the erroneous location with a single click. As a free add-on player with the capability to open Baton verification reports, the user can pinpoint and play the media around the error location and check the severity of the error. With features like "Slow playback around error", "Play all errors", BMP plays all the detected faults/errors in an automated manner without requiring any manual intervention.

Some rich salient features for BMP are:

Rich format support with all the player functionalities like play, pause, rewind, pause, forward, fast forward etc.

  • SDI Playout options using AJA and BlackMagic Card
  • Region marking options to pinpoint the video frames that contributed to an error (RGB, VSL)
  • Live loudness meter to highlight current loudness levels
  • Support for Closed Captions/Subtitles
  • Jog and shuttle functionality
  • Option to add comments which flow through to Baton reports, as well as to also view pre-existing ones (inserted via Baton interface)
  • Windows and Mac compatible
