CUPERTINO, California - February 19, 2014
Interra Systems today announced that Cinram, a Najafi Companies affiliate, has purchased the Baton quality control software for use at the Cinram Olyphant, Pennsylvania manufacturing and packaging facility and the Cinram 1K Studio in Burbank, California. Baton is an Automated Content Verification (or quality control) system. Cinram also purchased an add-on module for digital intermediate or mezzanine content verification.
Toronto-based Cinram is a leading service provider to the entertainment industry and one of the largest global manufacturers and distributors of Blu-ray discs, DVDs and CDs for the world’s leading motion picture studios, record labels and game publishers.
John Crosier, Cinram Senior Vice President Digital Architecture and Delivery, commented, "After reviewing a number of solutions, we chose Baton. Not only does the product exceed our requirements, Interra Systems has a thorough understanding of our business and is very responsive to our needs."
"Because the Baton system is widely used in the industry, Cinram can now mirror the content verification plans of its content distribution partners," said Ashish Basu, Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development for Interra Systems, Inc. "Baton is helping Cinram pinpoint quality issues during the DVD / Blu-ray production and authoring process, ensuring a superior product."
The Baton Content Readiness solution goes beyond traditional QC with its ability to handle a large number of audio and video formats, deliver the most complete quality checks, and provide the fastest verification and integration with servers and software throughout the content lifecycle. Baton is used by leading broadcasters, post-production houses, IPTV, telemedia, satellite and archiving companies. The Baton Enterprise version can be scaled to support multiple, geographically distributed facilities.
